In doing your genealogy, have you found any surprises? If so what? - german genealogy
I found a surprising number of French origin. I also discovered some of the aristocrats of Scotland and Germany in the family. (even after the fact, I read that is very common.) In any case, what about you?

I found, courtesy of an interview with CSPAN, the grandson of Winston Churchill that I am related to Churchill, President Bush (ugh), Franklin Roosevelt and Ulysses S. Grant. So why did not I become rich and famous like them? It's your fault, you're jealous, that's why!
ReplyDeleteI have most of the kings of European countries (before 1400), the Vikings. In addition, some lines in China and India.
ReplyDeleteBut I was surprised by most, because my family is from the north, is several rows of slave owners.
I was surprised one of my Dutch ancestors married the daughter of a chief of the Mohawk Indian tribe found in 1600 again. Now I have a new understanding of history and culture of Native Americans.
ReplyDeleteMy friend has revealed that his grandfather had many brothers and sisters, who had mentioned before. Must have been a kind of distance from the family that no one speaks. Unfortunately it is too late to know now what it was.

My family upbringing with Juan Ponce de Leon, too. This is the type who colonized Puerto Rico and Florida.

We also found the aristocrats (Castles in England) and all the best Tho was to find a possible relationship with a black beard!
ReplyDeleteWow, a few surprises! I found my grandparents and did not marry until she was in her 60's and 8 children! The family Bible was a time of marriage was a farce.
ReplyDeleteI also found a second cousin (in English) have emigrated to America and became a deputy sheriff in Carbon County. He was killed by an assassin called "Big Nose George Parrot found lynched after 2 years. What is surprising is that the local doctor had the body of the bandit and sunburn. The skin was elevated in cowboy boots made by the doctor!
